Custom Made Shade Sails – Measuring Guidelines

CUSTOM SHADE SAILS – MEASURING PROCEDURE This method of obtaining Shade Sail measurements for custom made sails must be followed to enable the correct design and fabrication of your shade sail.
By following the attached procedure you will greatly assist in the reduction of shade sail manufacturing errors caused by confusion between the person measuring the Shade Sail and the persons designing and manufacturing the Shade Sail.

METHOD: All measurements should be taken from fixing point to fixing
point (ie: eye to eye).
We will make necessary reductions for fixings and stretch.
UNITS: All measurements on drawings to be in millimeters  OR feet and inches
ACCURACY: All measurements to be to the nearest 10mm or nearest 1/2 inch.
All outside perimeter measurements are required and please supply as many diagonal measurements in addition to those *REQUIRED as possible. Diagonal dimensions are critical in the fabrication/design process to facilitate the manufacture of a correct fitting Shade sail.

IE: A 4 sided Shade Sail requires six measurements.

shade sail - 4 sided dimensions 4 perimeter measurements plus 2 diagonals
NOTE: One diagonal is * REQUIRED

and a six sided ShadeSail requires 15 measurements.

shadesail 6 sided dimensiond 6 perimeter measurements plus 9 diagonals
NOTE: 3 diagonals are * REQUIRED

IMPORTANT!!

Measurements required for shade sails

Measurements are to be taken from fixing point to fixing point as shown.

These MUST be
Actual  dimensions from your mounting point to mounting point.

We will make necessary reductions for fixings and stretch.
